HOPE HOUSE OPENS FEBRUARY 2026
A project by

The Greenburger Center for Social and Criminal Justice (GCSCJ) is a non-profit residential service provider for adult men and women living with serious mental illness and accused of felony level crimes. Through its Hope House on Crotona Park residential program, scheduled to open in early 2026, the GCSCJ will provide trauma informed, residential care for up to 2 years as an Alternative to Incarceration. Therapeutic services, provided by Argus Community, will also be available on site.
Our clients will enter Hope House from jail after voluntarily entering a plea agreement in court, with the advice of their defense counsel, and the support of the prosecutor and the presiding judge.
The program will treat, rather than punish someone whose uncontrolled symptoms of mental illness caused them to commit a crime. Our goal is to treat and equip our clients to re-enter society in a stable condition, thereby enabling clients to lead fulfilling and productive lives while keeping them, their loved ones and society safe at far lower costs than incarceration.
